The mantra I've experienced is "Oh, the poor veterans. How can we make a buck off their misery while waving the flag proudly ?" "Unforgiving" is a kind euphemism for that kind of vampirism.

I guess pity is emotional self-indulgence masquerading a compassion.

This sort of scapegoating seems typical of the Anglo-American model: you here it here from our version of neo-con media, be it the homeless, the immigrant, the asylum seeker, the unemployed, the long-term sick to name but a few of the unfortunate - all the focus of vituperative rage: 'get 'em working sh*t jobs and stop the undesrving sponging off the state', it usually goes.

But they forget to include getting the big corporations off the dole. Whoa!I haven't seen "vituperative" around for a while.

Don't the corporations bleed the people as well as sponge off the state?

I'm a disabled vet with a Bachelor's in Management and can't "buy" a decent job. Support the troops, hire one. Resume, Letters of Recommendation, and References upon request: initialgateway(at)yahoo
