Re: FSM and dawkins, i did get excited after the god delusion, and i already conceived of the fsm refutation before i even knew about it. I used a pink elephant in space. I live because life is great! it's like a massive opera that you can take part in.

Its not like creationists are making new arguments, they're regurgitating the same garbage again and again, trying to use new metaphors or something for the purpose of being more creative doesn't serve any purpose in an argument, the argument is valid.

Actually, I'm 16 years old, an atheist and I think you'll find you're the one regurgitating other people's arguments (FSM, Teapots... so original!). You sound like you've just read 'The God Delusion' and suddenly got all zealous and excited. a) Why would you 'fear' obeying roughly the same morals as a modern Christian morals? b) Other than sort of being nice and existing for the sake of it, WHY do you continue living?

The only arguments I've heard from you so far is you suggesting that I can't prove that I exist, being an atheist makes you a nihilist, religion doesn't use fear tactics and now that atheists have no reason to act morally - a common theistic argument. 1) You aim for the closest standard of education throughout all schools, no matter where they are 2) You instigate 'life lessons', basically you don't just teach kids academic stuff - you teach them about parenting, family values etc., all designed and structured by wise, down to earth sensible people. Atheism is not Nihilism. LEAVE ME ALONE!

How the hell will a good economy make people moral?! I think you should be focussing on 'realigning' your arguments. It's not morality through fear anyway. What does nihilism teach us to be moral through? If you were an atheist who enjoyed killing, why should you (for example) abstain from killing homeless people if neither they nor anyone else would ever know? Surely that's actually good?

Religion as a CCTV camera might serve for people who don't have access to schools, but it's unacceptable that people are moral through fear in normal schools. Religion can be CCTV for the ghetto until we have realigned the economy, which is what we should be focussing on.

Haha religion is a sort of 'free CCTV system'. I love that idea! Education is always my alternative. Why do people generally act in an anti-social manner? When they're upbringing /environment around them says it's okay. Bad parenting or non-existent parenting is the problem. And it's hard to rectify because if your parents were brought up badly it's passed on, just like religion. People function the best when they know all of the facts, not when they live in ignorance and are god-fearing.

I'm clearly not, and none of the three major boards for Psychology in Britain or American accept the IQ test as a valid display of intelligence either, besides which it's supposed to ignore 'acquired' education. America's education system is actually ridiculously enviable. Most obviously it's home to the best Universities in the world: 17 of the top 20. Harvard consistently ranks first.
