i think that should be possible. however, until that day can come we have to change things through our current standpoint and our current standpoint is becoming more and more socialized. as it stands we are now just discussing a point of opinion, and being we are both educated individuals i doubt that either of us can change the others opinion. it comes down to a question of personal morals. you believe that noone should be able to forcibly take your money, i belive that its a sacrifice.

in a way i do see the point you are making. in a sort of agreement i have to ask why, since land can be in citizens names, they cannot declare it as their own country due to the fact that it legally stands as their land. if they were to do that then taxes and public services would not have to effect said landowner.

Oh, and yeah... I guess that makes FedEx sort of a "public" institution... but no company is fully private if it uses roads funded by tax dollars. A trivial, but interesting point.

No, I'm not worried that the government will just pocket the cash from the tax hikes - though that's a legitimate concern, it's irrelevant. I am fundamentally opposed to taxation - all taxation. I see no moral difference between taxation (the confiscation of the wealth of people against their will by "governments") and theft (the confiscation of the wealth of people against their will... by "criminals"). Tell me how they're morally different, and perhaps I'll reconsider.

and robbing banks of 20000 dollars is nowhere near the same as gettin free healthcare. the only valid point ive seen in your argument is the worry that the government will keep the tax money meant for SHC. thats something that is a risk to everything everywhere. but remember a government isnt a physical being its a piece if writing on paper. the money specifically goes somewhere and can be routed back through similar means.

to involve wikipedia: "In 2000, FedEx and the USPS signed a 7-year contract to carry all the USPS overnight and high-priority mail throughout the FedEx system. The postal contract has recently been extented until 2012 and USPS continues to be one of the largest customers for FedEx." thats current current standing government conract. the organized crime was started by the chicago mafia in order to use garbage as a coverup for criminal operations.

Well, great. If you want to pay more in taxes, you're entirely welcome to send more of your money to the government. Just leave me out of it.

Organized crime? Of what sort? How? ...wrong, it's a private company. From wiki: "The name was chosen to symbolize a national marketplace, and help in obtaining government contracts." And is it fair to force other people to pay for it? Why not just rob banks till you get up to 20,000? How is that morally different?

and we shouldnt be forced to move to canada if we cannot afford something. i would gladly pay a rise, even a large one, in taxes if it assured me that at least some amount of healthcare to those in need. btw i didnt mention my father as a sob story i simply mentioned it to show my background on the issue.
