SFJane ::: Favorites yeh. After I was returned from an escape attempt at a group home I was put in isolation. During their *punishment* I went on a hunger strike and vow of silence. After 4 days they told me if I refused to eat or speak, they would take me to the State Hospital. The State Hospital was known for their patients and their Thorazine Shuffle. That's where the ECT lab is for hard cases. 07-10-05 20:49:39 __________________________________________________
LinuxKid27 ::: Favorites I rather go to a regular prison then to go to the state hospital. I think in my opinion psychiatric hospitals is thee far worst punishment to give to someone, rather then go to prison. With prison... you have Cable TV, A Gym, A court yard, School, and everything else.. inside psychiatric hospitals... you got jack shit. If you don't comply with their regulated rules of taking medications, you get it some place else! 07-10-05 21:01:23 __________________________________________________
LinuxKid27 ::: Favorites These criminals could even force you to take ECT treatment without a consent form, how dangerous that can be? 07-10-05 21:01:37 __________________________________________________
SFJane ::: Favorites with respect to the whole gym,tv, and everything else. That does somewhat depend on the care. My first and second hospitalizations were at private hospitals and were kind of kushkush they had tolerable food. I went to secure State Juvi mental health facilities. That sucked beyond description. Not a spa or a club. The State Hospital, is psychiatric prison with no fun stuff. The SH was located a whopping 500 feet away from my State group home. 07-10-05 21:49:21 __________________________________________________
LinuxKid27 ::: Favorites I typed in Psychiatric hospital on Google and clicked on their definition. I received this,"A hospital for the care and treatment of patients affected with acute or chronic mental illness. Also called mental hospital.." I typed in prison and heres what found 1. A place for the confinement of persons in lawful detention, especially persons convicted of crimes. 2. A place or condition of confinement or forcible restraint. 3. A state of imprisonment or captivity. 07-10-05 22:43:19 __________________________________________________
LinuxKid27 ::: Favorites I truly believe that it's pathetic to even call a psychiatric hospital a hospital at all! I see no definition of hospital in psychiatric care. I believe since psychiatrist who receives such title as MD(which in my humble opinion, they shouldn't!) feels official if they have their own institution that they call hospital.. It's just an ego thing. It would be better choice of word to remove hospital and to put in prison instead. 07-10-05 22:43:49 __________________________________________________
